We headed to South Kensington on a very hot day with the plan to find air conditioning in one of the many museums but started wandering instead.
It’s a lovely area, terraced houses with walled gardens and those private parks everywhere. After visiting the Narrow House which is quite near South Kensington station, we stumbled into Chelsea completely by accident but noticed the marked change in the styling of the houses, the expensive cars and absence of other cars plus many many black cabs. Rounding one corner we found ourselves in a shopping street with posh shops who all have a doorman like Chanel, and very well dressed (but also very few) shoppers.

It was a hot day so a pub was in order. We’d walked a wee way away from South Kensington station so headed back in that direction again and found ourselves the Admiral Codrington. When we arrived a male model was being filmed and photographed by a large entourage, we grabbed our expensive pints at the bar and sat in their courtyard watching the modelling shoot.
Lots of shops back in South Kensington to look at and a beautiful station building as well.

So if you want to see how the other half live go for a wander around Chelsea. Otherwise, go visit the museums, these are free and amazing.
